Jimmy Fallon Talks Up Goodyear
On Thursday we woke up to a thousand text messages and some amazing news. Jimmy Fallon and Ice Cube both hooked it up with an epic plug.
Ice Cube. The man. The legend. On one sunny day in 1992 he composed a classic rap track
about a very good day he had. Yup, "It Was a Good Day" was born. Fast-forward some 20
years later and you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't nod their head in happiness.
Not only is the song one of the biggest feel good jams of all time, it's also kept people guessing as to what day in history it was. That is until blogger Donovan Strain of Murk Avenue impressively figured out exactly what 'Good Day' Ice Cube was rapping about - January 20, 1992.
Surely, there must be thousands, even millions, of "It Was a Good Day" enthusiasts out there who would love to see Ice Cube's Goodyear blimp fly the skies for a good cause. So let's pay homage to this song by making January 20, 2014 the best day ever.
Knowing that Goodyear would need a good reason, we're crowdsourcing money for charity
with the express purpose of guiding Goodyear's hand to fly their blimp.
So if we all donate, we'll spread the joy of good days to everyone, and make January 20, 2014,
a good day to remember.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why did you choose APCH?
We sifted through a lot of charities and choose APCH because they specifically focus on South Central and improving the quality of life for the people who live there. This charity works extremely hard at ground zero to ensure better days and brighter futures. It was a perfect fit.
Are you partnered with APCH?
Nope. The best gifts in the world are surprises.
Why would you promote such an awful word ‘pimp’?
I guess that all depends on your point of view. The original definition of the word is pretty watered down via slang / culture / TV etc. If you listen to the song. The intent is clear.
How is reading “Ice Cube’s a pimp” supposed to remind me that “good days exist”?
Let's not be boring, or lose sight of the fact that this event will not go unnoticed. Press will spin the Good Day Blimp message positively because the Internet raised a lot of money for charity, A large corporation like Goodyear did something totally rad to help out a great group of kids, And we made something awesome and unexpected happen for everyone else. We lit up an icon for good days! Sure, we might need to thrown in some "Today was a good day" across the blimp to jog some memories on the 405 but that is all in the details.

How do we know January 20th is the day?
Blogger Donovan Strain of Murk Avenue impressively figured out exactly what ‘Good Day’ Ice Cube was rapping about. You can read the story here.
How will you give the money to the charity?
This website acts strictly as an escrow account. No one involved with this project will lay a finger on the money. It will transfer directly from Crowdtilt to the charity if the stunt is successful.
Who is behind this project?
Just a few guys who thought it was a fun idea. Project by Jon Barco, Andy Dao, Bryan Denman, and Michael Lopez // Talent and editing by Joseph Schulhoff // Dev by Jim Alexander // Illustration by Michael Marsicano.
What if Goodyear decides to not fly the blimp?
We will all emoji sad faces to each other. Then we will work fast to return the money to our contributors if Goodyear folds. Instantly transforming this holiday into a just a regular day.
How do we contact You?
What if Goodyear says they’ll fly the blimp?!?
Per the storyline. Jan 20th is our cutoff. If our friends at Goodyear decide to come through with the goods. First we’ll scream. Then we’ll work out logistics and keep you updated on the happenings. Then we will all sit back and enjoy the flight.
Are you guys affiliated with Ice Cube, Goodyear, or APCH?
No, no, and no
I threw down for a poster but my receipt doesn't show it.
We patched that bug. And on our end, It shows you paid for it. So don't worry too much but you can still email us to chat if you want.
If you guys don't reach your goal do I still get a poster?
Nope. We aim to do big things so we dream real big. If the project fails to fund everyone gets refunded. No posters will be handed out via this site but the poster may become available through other channels at that point. We will keep all poster people posted on this.
When do the posters ship?
If everything works out. And we are fully funded. And we fly a blimp. The posters will be sent out in February.
Why are you guys picking on Goodyear?
Our intentions are for the best. We want this to be fun. There is a lot of bad press and although Goodyear already takes a lot of time and money to help out various charities we think making this good day happen will be great for them and APCH.
